This site is dedicated to news and the work of one of America’s premier statesmen, James DeMint.  Since 2004, as South Carolina’s 55th senator, Jim DeMint has become known to most Americans that hunger for government for, of and by the people.  As the phenomena of the Tea Party movement has exploded on the scene with the unprecedented power grab by the federal government, Senator DeMint stands toe to toe with those who see the United States Constitution as the governing law of our republic.  Senator DeMint has spearheaded the birth of the Tea Party Caucus in the Senate and is an outspoken advocate the government set forth by the founding fathers.

The Senator has stopped more than 10,000 wasteful pork spending projects.  Jim DeMint has been called a “hero” and the “taxpayers’ greatest ally” by such journalist as Washington’s Robert Novak and Steve Moore, an editor of the Wall Street journal.  He has successfully fought for common sense immigration reform and has been rated Number 1 in the Senate for responsible tax and spending policies as the most conservative member by National Review.

Senator DeMint understands that in the United States, greatness is found in the values of the people and not the government.  With our country facing some of the most daunting problems of our history, Senator DeMint knows that our time is short and is a leader who has and is pulling up his sleeves and going to work to address the problems we face with common sense and vigor.

DeMint Wants War With Dems Over Debt Ceiling
Monday, 03 Jan 2011

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., a leader of the conservative, tea-party-backed wing of the Republican Party says his GOP colleagues in Congress should stand firm to avoid an increase in the debt ceiling. He’s ready for a major fight with President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats, The Hill reports.

“I think we should resist that [raising the debt ceiling],” DeMint says in an interview with conservative magazine Human Events. “We need to have a showdown, at this point, that we're not going to increase our debt ceiling anymore. We are going to cut things necessary to stay within the current levels, which is over $14 trillion. So this needs to be a big showdown."

Congressional Republicans are in the midst of sorting out their views as to how they will deal with the issue.

“I want to sincerely congratulate Senator DeMint on this award. Fully aware that Human Events cannot give the award to me every year, Human Events has made the only other choice they could make. Tough, courageous, rock-solid and unflinching, Jim DeMint charts the way for all of us in truly historic times.”
